| Egypt |
| is a country filled with over 6,000 years of culture and the mystique of ancient monuments. The best way to learn about this history and see the best sites is to be accompanied by an Egyptologist. To travel in this country and see the major historical sites, we recommend a trip that combines flights to important sites and a cruise on a private yacht on the Nile River. | ![]() |

| THE BEST WAY TO SEE EGYPT |
| The Nile River flows across Egypt and was and still is the best way to travel in this desert country. It is along the banks of the Nile that one finds the famous ruins of Abu Simbel, Kom Ombo, Aswan, Edfu, Esna, Luxor and Dendra. Along the way one has the chance to catch a glimpse of the local people of Egypt outside of the large cities. | |

The
Sun Boat III and IV are our favorite choices for cruising on the Nile.
These 5-star deluxe cruisers carry a maximum of 40 and 80 passengers
respectively. These boats provide an excellent floating hotel to come
back to in the evening after a day spent exploring on shore.

|
| Day excursions from the Sun Boat with an expert Egyptologist will help one unravel the mysteries of Egypt and the many different archeological sites. | |

POSSIBLE
COMBINATIONS AND EXTENSIONS
|
| Egypt's location makes it ideal to combine with a safari to Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, or Uganda to see some of Africa's wildlife and people. If one would like to delve further into the cultures of the Middle East we can also arrange combined trips to Jordan, Israel, Syria, Turkey and Lebanon. Shorter extensions from Egypt might include 1 - 2 days in Alexandria, Egypt's second largest city with beautiful beaches and interesting ruins like the Catacombs of el-Shogafa, a Roman Amphitheater and Pompeii's Pillar. Other interesting sites that should not be missed are St. Catherine's fortress monastery, which is situated deep in the heart of the Sinai Peninsula at an altitude of 5,000 feet, and the Red Sea, where the Coral Beach Nature Reserve offers some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world as well as opportunities for other water sports and relaxation. |
