is equal in size to California and home to some of the greatest wildlife populations in Africa. The country has carefully conserved and managed their wildlife populations and kept tourist developments at a modest level, which means a safari in Zimbabwe will be a peaceful experience. Victoria falls, known as "the smoke that thunders", is found in Zimbabwe and is one of the "Seven Wonders of the World." Unfortunately, due to instability in the government, we are not operating trips into Zimbabwe at this time. However, we hope the best for this country and look forward visits in the future.

SAFARI
STYLE IN ZIMBABWE
|
| Zimbabwe has several spectacular parks, such as Matusadona, Hwange and the famous Mana Pools National Park, which was declared a World Heritage Site in l988. It is in these parks where we can arrange several types of safaris, ranging from beautiful small camp and lodge stays to private mobile camps, canoeing, horseback trips and walking safaris. |

| Canoeing on the Zambezi River is a particularly popular safari activity. One is able to closely view many kinds of animals and birds as one's canoe silently glides across the water. Hippos surface with a snort as one drifts by and it is possible to get within meters of grazing buffalo, slide by sleeping crocodiles, and watch elephants come down to drink. |
![]() Buffalo are one of the most dangerous animals in Africa. It is essential to have a top class professional guide when walking in Zimbabwe. |
![]() Learning animal signs, like this leopard track, is an exciting part of a safari in Zimbabwe. |
| Walking with a professional armed guard and stalking game may be one of the most exciting experiences in Africa. Some of the best African guides have been trained in Zimbabwe and will help make a safari a rewarding and learning experience. |
| POSSIBLE SAFARI COMBINATIONS AND EXTENSIONS |
| We recommend combining a trip to Zimbabwe with Zambia (with perhaps the best site to view the falls), Botswana, South Africa, or Malawi. Do not miss the chance to spend some time in the Victoria Falls area, where in addition to viewing the falls and staying in several wonderful safari lodges, it is possible to white water raft on one of the wildest rivers in the world, bungee jump over the Zambezi River, and fly in a helicopter over the falls. |
