Costa
Rica
|
![]() |
| is a beautiful Central American country with friendly people who have decided not to invest in military development, but instead to carefully protect their natural resources for the world. It is a wonderful jewel for outdoor lovers and is practically just out our back door, making a trip to Costa Rica an easy and pleasant experience. There is much to explore in this country, with numerous high volcanic peaks (some still active), lush tropical forests, and pristine coastal beaches on both the Pacific and Caribbean Oceans. | |

| A trip to Costa Rica should include a visit to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, which is home to the rarely seen tapir and one of the most diverse birding sites in the world. In addition, we recommend visiting one of the many volcanic sites, the Tortuguero Reserve and the Osa Peninsula to see the diversity of habitats and forest reserves that Costa Rica offers and to search for interesting wildlife, like scarlet macaws, poison dart frogs, sloths, howler monkeys, jaguars, basilisk lizards, caimans, and crocodiles. |
|
| A night soaking in thermal volcanic hot springs while watching volcanic activity is soothing after an exciting day of hiking through cloud forests, riding down an empty beach, or rafting one of the numerous rivers surrounded by forests and monkeys. |
