WINTER ACTIVITIES -
Many lodges are now open year-round and offer special activities during the winter months, from romantic cozy weekend getaways to family adventure trips and downhill skiing packages. Try mushing with sled dogs or wrap up with a hot drink in hand and take a sleigh ride.

| Wildlife viewing and cross-country skiing/snowshoeing complement each other well, as winter brings most wildlife down out of the mountains and into more visible and accessible areas. A winter visit to Yellowstone National Park will provide a peaceful glimpse of the plentiful Rocky Mountain wildlife with few other tourists and almost guaranteed sightings of wolves. Take a snow coach into Old Faithful Lodge (the largest log structure in the U.S.) and explore the thermal pools and vents where bison and elk gather in the steam and patches of open ground. | ![]() |
